Step and Stone are a bakery based at The Park Centre in Knowle and is co-founded by two parents whose children have Down's Syndrome.  Since Term 2 we have formed a successful partnership with the Bakery. Both Jane and Jane (co-founders) have visited our Bird's Nest Cafe and have a good understanding of how our cafe runs and its links to accreditation and EHCP targets and outcomes.  To support this, each term two of our Post 16 learners who have a passion in catering and are considering this as a long term aspiration, access work experience at the bakery once a week throughout the term.  A familiar member of staff from school also attends to support.  The opportunity enables our learners to develop and put into practice both social and employability skills.
