PE Grant Money

We are spending our PE Grant money on the following activities to enhance the student's experience of PE lessons, and to provide students with a greater variety of activities. Not all pupils will access all activities every term, some are allocated on a rota system or are particularly appropriate for pupils with specific needs. Some (like Wheelchair Basketball) are one-off activities to broaden student's experiences.

The PE grant this year has made a good impact on our pupils learning, communication and independence.   The introduction of 'Rebound Therapy' has enabled our pupils to communicate to new adults, follow physical instructions using different resources and has provided a safe place for the pupils to become more and more independent. Rebound therapy has increased confidence levels of students progressively throughout the weeks which has also impacted onto the students learning within an academic context - this has been shown through pupils levels and concentration.  Having regular opportunities to be active across each day and week has allowed our pupils concentration levels to increase and has improved their attitudes towards school and learning. Pupils have had a bigger variety of choice when it comes to physical activities due to experts coming in, resources available and staff being trained how to teach different aspects of PE successfully.  This has led to our pupils communicating their choices and due to this it has improved their behavior and relationships with staff and pupils across the school.
