Key stages 4 and 5 put on an amazing production of Grease this summer. The leavers took on the staring roles, while the other students ably supported them in a variety of different dance routines. Everyone who saw it came out with a huge smile on their face. The performance for the parents also included a song from The Greatest Showman as a tribute to Shan. Well done to all those involved..
Fantastic Bugs and Mini-Beasts Exhibition
Post 16 students went to visit the art exhibition that they contributed to, which has run at the Create Centre for two weeks. The learners loved seeing their sculptures in the exhibition and were very excited to read all the wonderful comments in the comments book. Maybe it will be the Tate Modern next year?
Post 16 End of Year Trip
Our learners opted for a trip to Tynesfield for their end of year trip. They enjoyed playing ball games in the grounds, taking a walk through the beautiful gardens and eating a delicious picnic lunch in the sunshine or shade of the huge old trees! Some of the students even went into the house and the chapel to marvel at the grand history on our doorstep! One of the highlights of the day was grabbing a McFlurry on the way back to school!
Swallows and Robins Go Gromit- Hunting!
Students in P16 have been busy learning how to travel on public buses into town this year. They have been using Central Library and the Brandon Trust Cafe based in St. Stephen's Church but for the last few weeks of term, our learners had a much more pressing task.... how many Wallace and Gromit statues could they find dotted around Bristol? They searched around the waterfront and they searched around Cabot's Circus and this is what they saw.....
Our leavers have just attended their prom. We joined the leavers from the BLC at The Arnos Manor Hotel to party the night away! Our students wore wonderful evening gowns and their smartest suits for the occasion. There was a lot of dancing, a delicious buffet and plenty of fun! Everyone had a great time and our learners ruled the dance floor!
Post 16 Residential Trip to Devon!
18 of our learners have just returned from a 4 day/ 3 night residential trip to The Manor House Hotel in Devon. The learners had a great time taking part in a variety of activities including glass engraving, adventure golf, t-shirt painting, tennis, badminton, roller skating, rounders, swimming, the hydro-spa and ice skating as well as enjoying a movie night, eating the delicious food in the restaurant and having fun in the fun house, games room and 10 pin bowling. It was an action packed few days and we were all very very tired when we got back, just in time for the half term holiday!
Our students were beautifully behaved and brilliant ambassadors for New Fosseway School particularly as we shared the hotel with lots of other people. Learners were polite, waited their turn at the buffet and the bar when ordering their (soft) drinks and staff were very proud of the students confidence and independence when moving themselves around the large campus.
What a super few days we had!
