Post 16 Residential Trip to Devon!

18 of our learners have just returned from a 4 day/ 3 night residential trip to The Manor House Hotel in Devon. The learners had a great time taking part in a variety of activities including glass engraving, adventure golf, t-shirt painting, tennis, badminton, roller skating, rounders, swimming, the hydro-spa and ice skating as well as enjoying a movie night, eating the delicious food in the restaurant and having fun in the fun house, games room and 10 pin bowling. It was an action packed few days and we were all very very tired when we got back, just in time for the half term holiday!

Our students were beautifully behaved and brilliant ambassadors for New Fosseway School particularly as we shared the hotel with lots of other people. Learners were polite, waited their turn at the buffet and the bar when ordering their (soft) drinks and staff were very proud of the students confidence and independence when moving themselves around the large campus.

What a super few days we had!

Some of our Post 16 learners are studying Sports Journalism with Bristol Rugby Academy. They recently had a rare opportunity to visit Bristol Rugby at their training ground at Clifton Rugby Club. After meeting some of the players and asking a few prepared questions, they watched them training. Once the training session was over, our students joined a formal press conference where they listened to professional journalists and Sam FM presenter, Downsy, ask questions to the head coach and some of the players. Our budding journalists had another opportunity to ask questions about the rugby players training schedules, diet and lifestyle choices. What a fantastic experience!
