Heron class have been learning all about plants and livings things in Science. We have been given a section of the school vegetable plot. We have been digging holes and cutting weeds. We have been watering the plants to let them grow and we want to grow strawberries, potatoes, sunflowers and carrots. We hope that it comes up as a good garden with lots of food!

KS3 enjoy their Alice Tea party
Heron class worked very hard in contributing to the KS3 Alice party. We made our decorations and food in our streamed groups and enjoyed them during the party. We loved dressing up and experiencing Alice's tea party.
Heron class have been really enjoying our class THRIVE sessions as of late. We have developed our teamwork, communication, our fine motor skills and our patience and stickability.
As part of our termly book Boffin Brainchild, Heron Literacy group have been designing robots. We talked in our groups about what type of robots we wanted to make and created them, following our designs. We worked brilliantly in our teams and produced some stunning robots.
Herons and Eagles trip to the dentist
As part of Dental Hygiene week Heron class and Eagle class visited the hospital today. We looked at the various pieces of equipment and we sat in the dentist’s chair. We were all very brave and we even had a go at a practice run with the equipment.
Heron class have been learning about the coastline this term. We have visited the "beach" and experienced the conditions and loved feeling the sand on our bare feet. We loved handling the fish and sea creatures brought in and loved surprising visitors with the disgusting details!
During Creative Arts week, Heron class enjoyed a wide variety of workshops and events. We made a totem pole, made masks, performed on stage and really enjoyed the visit of the Zoo lab! We handled snakes, bearded dragons and more!
Heron class have been creating and researching volcanoes this week. We made our volcanoes our of clay, modelling the slopes, and then created our lava out of baking soda and vinegar. We had a blast recording our result and watching the reaction!
Circus Skills in Heron class
Heron class have been hard at work developing our circus skills. We have practiced using: spinning plates; poi; Hula hoops; balance beams; juggling balls and more! Over the weeks we have developed our skills so we are ready for our class performance, which is coming soon!
Time for French in Heron class
Time for French in Heron class. We had to listen to the colour (in French!) before moving to the correct place on the colour wheel. The choice was hard, as there were 7 colours but the students did outstandingly.

Heron's experience Baptism and Communion
Herons experienced the features of a church, the font and the altar. We enjoyed learning about Baptism (even though we did get a little wet!) and encountering a version of Communion. We plan to visit different religious buildings over the term, so come back to see what we do next!

Heron class have been learning all about different environments around the world this term. We have visited the Sahara desert, the rainforest and the Arctic. We experienced the conditions of every environment and can say what it would be like to live there!
